This afternoon I decided to go to an event called the San Antonio Tweed Ride and Toy Drive and I learned two important things. One, tweed has nothing to do with Twitter; Two, the cyclist population in San Antonio is growing steadily. I discovered a group of avid cyclists dressed in classic vintage attire in an effort to recreate an era where “tweed” and “hobby-horse” were common among Londoners while at the same time helping out a great cause. Tony Abate, the man behind the event, talks a little about why he decided to create a tweed ride in San Antonio and how he’s impacting the lives of several children this Christmas. Check out the pictures I took just before they left on their eight mile ride downtown and the short video interview with Tony.
